Imagine your thermal pane window as a greenhouse, but instead of the walls being 25 feet apart they are an inch apart. The air inside the two panes heats up drastically causing two things to happen: A change in pressure causing water droplets to form, and then these water droplets between the panes evaporate. This is why there are moments the moisture or 'fogging' seems to disappear and then reappears when the temperature outside changes.
With this unique procedure, the process is reversed. The secret to this process involves the installation of our patented ‘micro filter’. The ‘micro filter’ vents become active when sunlight increases pressure in the window by evaporating water droplets. The pressure expels water vapor from the vent, drying out the window. Once the water is gone the Defogger valve remains dormant, sealing the enclosed air space. In this state the thermal value ('R') of the window is restored. What you end up with is a vented window, which we guarantee will never fail and is backed up with a 20-year written warranty.

Why Does This Happen?
Outside air means excess moisture. This, coupled with sunshine, leads to condensation and fogging. Some IGUs are sealed, arriving with pressure higher inside than outside. Other IGUs have a capillary tube installed, which often fails and permits moisture entry.
Over time, climate variations stress the IGU's seal, which eventually fails and allows outside air into the space between the glass panes. |

Outside air means excess moisture and this, coupled with sunshine, leads to condensation and fogging.
Rather than replacing the entire IGU, which is costly, Clear Window Restorations installs a tiny valve in the IGU. This valve regulates pressure and allows the window to exhale the trapped moisture without allowing new moisture in.
Result: restored R-value, money saved, and a clear view once again. Guaranteed. |
